Short for preparation H, Prep H is de facto an affordable, over-the-counter medicated ointment formulated for hemorrhoids. Its customary formulation contained shark oil and Lycd, a live yeast cell derivative that are said to have properties that can diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Rumors had it that even celebrities and favorite personalities used Prep H not de facto to find relief for hemorrhoids but to give them a younger appearance.
But as studies indicate that the live yeast cell derivative Lycd does not de facto treat hemorrhoids, Prep H was reformulated such that the ingredient Lycd was removed and substituted instead with Phenylephrine, an ingredient found to have vasoconstricting properties. Accordingly this ingredient, which constricts blood vessels and gets excess fluid out, is more efficient in treating hemorrhoids than Lycd. The thing is the new formulation of Prep H is not anymore efficient in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
